Branch Closure

Greenock and Inverclyde MSP Duncan McNeil has expressed his frustration at the decision made by the Royal Bank of Scotland to close its branch in Gourock.

The news comes only a year after the bank decided to pull out of Port Glasgow.

The decision means that Gorouck will now only have one bank.

Responding to the decision Duncan McNeil said:

"It's extremely disappointing that this decision has been taken without consultation and without taking into account that more people would be visiting the area through ambitious plans for a new traffic system and with the new Sainsbury's store on the way".

"I will be contacting the banks to see if they will reconsider their plans in light of the increased number of people who will be passing through the area"
