Green Energy Jobs go East

Duncan McNeil, MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, has expressed his frustration at the continuing failure to bring Green Energy jobs to Inverclyde.

His comments come after Samsung Industries announced a £100 million plan for 500 wind turbine jobs in Fife.

The Labour MSP said;

‘While I congratulate the Methil community in its success, yet again investment has gone East and Inverclyde’s renewable potential is being ignored. We have the skills and infrastructure to be a real player in renewables manufacturing and this needs to be recognised and supported’.

‘I am determined that we should be part of the renewable’s future and bring manufacturing jobs back to Inverclyde’

‘We need support from the Scottish Government and we have to focus on what we can do locally’.

‘This is why I have asked for a meeting with Inverclyde’s Renewable’s Alliance and Scottish Enterprise to press them to do more to bring green energy jobs to Inverclyde’.
