MSP Discusses newly merged fire service

Local MSP Duncan McNeil recently met with the Director of Service Delivery for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s West of Scotland region, to discuss how the newly merged service will impact on Inverclyde.

The new service will encompass the former Strathclyde and Dumfries and Galloway services, and will serve a population of 2.5 million people.

Duncan McNeil said:

“I was delighted to meet with the Director of Service Delivery, Dave Boyle, to discuss the implications of the new service for our local area. I welcome his commitment to improve and safeguard local services as well as the continuing focus on community safety.”

“I was also pleased to hear that the new service will engage with local people, organisations and communities and I look forward to working with Dave Boyle to secure the best outcomes for the people of Inverclyde”.
