MSP keeps up pressure on ferry terminal plans

Local MSP Duncan McNeil has pressed the Cabinet Secretary John Swinney to ensure proposals to develop the Cruise terminal here in Greenock is making satisfactory progress.

He quizzed the Finance Secretary over the proposed plans in parliament.

The Greenock and Inverclyde MSP said:

“While Mr Swinney was short on detail, I take heart from the continuing support of Scottish Government Ministers who recognise the potential of the cruise line business for Inverclyde and Scotland”.

“I also understand from representations to Scottish Enterprise that progress is being made on the proposed plan to develop the Cruise terminal here in Greenock . A financial model has been agreed and structural engineers have been engaged but the bid has not yet been finalised or submitted to the Scottish Enterprise Board”

“I look forward to swift progress being made on the development of the plan and I will keep up the pressure to ensure that this opportunity is not missed”.
