Election Result “a great honour” – McNeil
Newly re-elected MSP for Greenock & Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, has thanked his constituents for returning him to the Scottish Parliament and says he is committed to continuing to working represent every part of his constituency.

He said:

“It is a great honour to be elected to represent your community and I am delighted to have been returned for the second time as Greenock and Inverclyde’s MSP. I would like to thank everyone who voted in the election and assure you that I will continue to represent every part of my constituency.

“In Wemyss Bay, the key issue remains how we strike the right balance between, on the one hand, safeguarding the magnificent environment which makes the village the number one relocation choice for more and more people and, on the other, providing the range, choice and quality of local services a vibrant community requires.

“So, over the next four years, I will be arguing, for example, for new legislation to strengthen residents’ rights in the planning process and for local schools to be expanded and improved to reflect changing population patterns.”
