£28,922 for Local Community
Groups
MSP, Duncan McNeil, has congratulated
the eight latest community groups in his Greenock &
Inverclyde constituency to benefit from Lottery cash.
The groups, from the Samaritans to Inverkip Bowling Club, all successfully bid for Community Awards from the Community Fund, Sports Awards from SportScotland and Arts Awards from the Scottish Arts Council.
Welcoming the announcement, Mr McNeil said:
"I congratulate these groups on their successful applications.
"These organisations, in their own ways, are all important to our community. Whether it’s a boys club attracting young people away from cigarettes and drugs, or a community hall acting as a focal point for the neighbourhood, they all do vital jobs.
"I am sure these grants will be put to good use in helping this work to continue."
