Welcomes National Semiconductor Investment
MSP
for Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, has welcomed today’s announcement
by the National Semiconductor Corporation that
it will invest $18.5 million in its Greenock manufacturing plant.
Speaking
to the Telegraph he said:
“It
is a testament to the Greenock plant and its workforce that, at a time when
companies in high-tech manufacturing are experiencing difficulties, National
Semiconductor is investing to increase
production capacity.
“This
is positive news both for Nat Semi staff, many of whom are my constituents, and
for the Inverclyde economy as a whole.”
