McNeil Comments on CMU
Birth Rate
Commenting on the lack of
births at the Community Midwife Unit at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, MSP for
Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, today said:
“These are, of course, early
days. And, when I visited the unit
last week, I saw busy antenatal clinics and staff looking forward to their first
birth. It was also clear that the
midwives are determined to continue delivering the highest possible standards of
care.”
He continued:
“I have far wider concerns
about the implementation of Argyll and Clyde’s plans for women and
children’s services at the IRH and I will continue to pursue issues of patient
choice and access to services across the country.”
