"Save the Rankin" Campaign Hotline Launched
MSP for Greenock & Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, has today launched the "Save the Rankin" Campaign Hotline. The line (01475 791 697) will provide information on the campaign and will allow anyone who wishes to help keep maternity services in Inverclyde to become involved.
Commenting, Mr McNeil said:
"This hotline will help anyone who cares about the future of maternity services in Inverclyde to get involved in the campaign and do their bit to save the Rankin.
"If you want to request a campaign pack, volunteer to help, or simply send a message of support, give us a call on 791 697.
"Anyone who has any spare time to collect signatures, distribute posters, stuff envelopes, or help in any other way can simply call the hotline for details of how to lend a hand."

Background Notes
Many hundreds of campaign packs are currently being distributed throughout the community. As a result of reports of the campaigns launch in the Greenock Telegraph on Tuesday 16th January 2001, local people have already begun calling Mr McNeils office requesting campaign material.
To request a campaign pack, simply call the hotline on 01475 791 697.
The campaign was launched by Mr McNeil, community activists and young and expectant mothers, on Monday 15th January at Craigend Resource Centre, Greenock.
