McNeil Comments on Football Pools Debate
Commenting on Wednesday’s Scottish Parliament debate on the dispute between
football pools companies and clubs, MSP
for Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, said:
“It’s a matter of regret
that this dispute remains unresolved.
“You only need to look at a
newspaper to see that there is not a lot of slack in your average community
club’s finances. Similarly, the
decade since the launch of the National Lottery has not been the pools
companies’ best.
“I hope, though, that
common sense prevails and that some form of compromise can be found.”
