in Good Company in Inverclyde – McNeil
MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, has hailed today’s announcement by Amazon.co.uk that it is to create up to 300 jobs in Gourock as "proof that Inverclyde is still the place for top-line brands to invest."
He said:
"In Inverclyde, Amazon.co.uk will be joining other top-line brands such as IBM, T-Mobile, National Semiconductor and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
"Inverclyde has a proven track record in attracting inward investment from leading companies and this announcement shows that employers still know that this is the place to do business.
"The decline in the electronics industry led to some tough times for our economy. But if we can continue to attract a wider range of firms in industries which offer more secure employment, we have a real chance of lasting economic regeneration."
